S.A.R. in Steinbach is being recognized by Polaris for their innovative promotion of the three-wheeled Slingshot.

Co-Owner Adam Crookes says when the Polaris Slingshot was first launched a few years ago it was a brand new type of product for them so they had to get creative with marketing.

"It accelerates really fast and so it is a ton of fun. Fun to the point of there is a place for it on a race track and so last year in wintertime Randy and I dreamt up, ‘how would that look if we would go out and put a few of these on the track and do heads-up racing’ and so Randy contacted some of his contacts and we had eight guys racing last year and it was a ton of fun."

Crookes says the second series begins at the end of May.

Co-Owner Randy Wolgemuth says many people in the southeast enjoy motorsports and they also support local businesses like S.A.R. which makes all of this possible.

"We were awarded the silver dealership slingshot award and that is made up of four criteria, Marketing, Branding, sales, and service. In North America, we are in the top 100 slingshot dealers for Polaris."

Doug White, with Polaris Canada, says S.A.R. believed in the Slingshot even though it was a new and unique product.

"With a product like this, there is a bunch of uncertainty of how to go to market, how you want to tackle the product. They, from day one, have really taken a run at being forerunners within the province. They have looked at the product they have understood the product, they have driven the product."
