St. Pierre RCMP were called to a single vehicle rollover Monday morning west of Sarto. Constable Shane Conway says the mishap occurred on Blatz Road, two kilometres south of Provincial Road 205 and the driver was gone when they arrived.

"We just had a report of a motor vehicle collision with no individuals on scene. It was found by a witness. The driver has been reported to be fine with no injuries noted and the registered owner has been notified. Obviously, speed was probably a factor in this incident but we're going to be furthering the investigation."

Conway says the gravel road had recently been graded so there was loose gravel on the surface. He reminds motorists that whenever there is an accident, they must remain with their vehicle and call police even if they feel okay.

"The motor vehicle driver should be contacting police as soon as possible because they're going to be making a claim with Manitoba Public Insurance and MPI always requires a police report in regards to the incident. So it should be reported as soon as possible so that we can have medical responders assist and make sure of the safety and welfare of the individual and, secondly, just to obtain a quick statement and ensure we have all the investigation points covered for the collision."
