Winter wonderland in Steinbach

A heavy snowfall warning remains in effect for Steinbach and southeastern Manitoba. Another two to four centimetres is expected today with winds increasing to northwest 40-60 this morning. We've already received at least ten centimetres or four inches of wet, heavy snow.

The Hanover,  Seine River and Red River Valley School Divisions have cancelled classes today.

Roads are snow packed, slushy and slippery. Extra caution is advised. There are already reports of numerous vehicles hitting the ditch.

10 to 15 cm of snow possible by noon today.

A storm system located over Extreme Northern Minnesota this morning has spread an area of snow over Southeastern Manitoba and reached Winnipeg near midnight. Snowfall will continue this morning with snow falling heavy at times south and east of Winnipeg with visibility reduced to 500 metres or less at times. Snow is expected to gradually taper off Tuesday afternoon. General snowfall amounts of 10 to 15 cm are expected over Southeastern Manitoba by noon today.
