A smattering of sponsorships is responsible for financing Richer's Premier Tech Multiplex and its amenities.

“There are plans in process for a BMX mogul track and toboggan hill,” says Richer Community Club Director Dan Guetre. “Those are the ongoing ones, but there have been a couple of other upgrades as well.”

Guetre informs the initiative is also looking to provide new coverings for the rink boards and a bit of resurfacing as well, but that another addition in the form of a memorial is immediately on deck.

“There’s a big rock coming in, and there will be a plaque on it with potentially a timber frame board on there listing the sponsors, I believe.”

Guetre says his staff searched for every possible grant and sponsorship to get funding for the Multiplex projects and paid out-of-pocket for none of them. “It’s all grants and sponsorships,” he offers, “so we’ve been working hard that way.”

According to Guetre the BMX mogul tack and toboggan hill should be finished by fall with the memorial expected to be completed a bit later. Work on the Multiplex is mostly completed with the expected arena additions being done in the near future.

“The landscaping for that should be done for sure by fall,” says Guetre, “and then the rink will probably be done by spring, or next year sometime if we can’t get around to it this year.”
