Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure (MTI) will be starting repairs on Steinbach’s Main St. on Monday, May 13.

City Manager Troy Warkentin says administration received notice from MTI on Monday, advising that they have planned a concrete joint repair program for Steinbach's Main St. for this spring and summer.

“I don't have any other details as to the duration of the project, but they do indicate that both the eastbound and westbound lanes of Main St. between Brandt St. and Kroeker Ave. will be affected.”

Councillor Susan Penner asks if administration has received any update as to when Highway 12 will get repairs from MTI.

Warkentin says he can't provide much information.

“I am aware that MTI has also been considering an asphalt overlay program along Brandt St. and PTH 12. To what extent and as to when the project might occur, that information we do not have.”
