Reimer Avenue from Henry Street east

Traffic is back to normal in the vicinity of Reimer Avenue and Henry Street following several months of construction.

Head city engineer Phil Kalyta says the reconstruction of Reimer, east of Henry as well as part of Pine Crescent is pretty much finished. "It's winding down. The Reimer and Henry intersection is back open now. The asphalt went down last week and they are just doing the finishing touches on the landscaping this week. So, everything should be back to normal by Labour Day."

Work will continue further east on Reimer next year. Kalyta says, "What we got done this year is going to set us up in good shape for next year's work for the rebuilding of Spruce Crescent which is long overdue. This was step one of several steps."

Meanwhile, Kalyta says the lagoon and landfill expansion projects are also in the wind down phase.
