RCMP have released more information regarding a two-vehicle collision yesterday on Highway #12 at Golfair Road in Steinbach.
They report the female who was airlifted by STARS to hospital in Winnipeg is a 21-year-old woman from Airdrie, Alberta. There is no update on her condition.
Investigators say the woman was leaving the mall parking lot at 11:21 A.M. and planning to turn north onto Highway #12. As she crossed the southbound lanes of the highway, her car was hit on the driver's side door by a southbound pickup truck driven by a 63-year-old male from Giroux.
Police say the 21-year-old woman sustained serious injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
A female passenger was taken to Bethesda Regional Health Centre with undetermined injuries. The driver of the truck refused treatment. RCMP say charges are being contemplated.
