| Provencher MP Vic Toews has introduced a bill to raise the age of sexual consent from 14 to 16. The Justice Minister tells us he is also changing the name of the law to "Age Of Protection." He says the intent is to protect young people from adult sexual predators. Toews adds the bill includes a near-age exemption of 5 years so they don't criminalize consensual sex among young people. |
