The RCMP is investigating a suspicious death in Blumenort. 

At approximately 7:45 PM on Tuesday, Steinbach RCMP received a report of a firearm having been discharged at residence on Crestview Lane in Blumenort. 

Officers, along with EMS, responded to the call and located a 27-year-old male from Blumenort with critical injuries. The man was pronounced deceased on scene. 

A 43-year-old male, who resides at this residence and was not physically injured, was arrested on scene and remains in police custody. 

Residents in the area say many police cars responded to the incident Tuesday evening and there was a lot of commotion. Two police cars remained on scene Wednesday morning.

Steinbach RCMP, along with Major Crime Services and RCMP Forensic Identification Services, continue to investigate.
