It turned out to be a very expensive Thanksgiving dinner for one motorist in Steinbach.
RCMP announced today that a vehicle was clocked travelling at 113 kilometres per hour in a 60 zone. This happened mid-afternoon along Brandt Street on the Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend.
Police say the excuse given was that this motorist was running late for Thanksgiving dinner.
No one was hurt.
The motorist was fined $744 and handed a serious offense notice for a license review with Manitoba Public Insurance.
