The owners of Steinbach Dental Clinic say they are working hard to make sure their patients get the help they need following Sunday’s fire.

The Steinbach Fire Department was called to Steinbach Dental Clinic shortly before 8 A.M. Sunday. When they arrived, Chief Kel Toews says there was smoke coming out of the building and flames at the back door.

Dr. Kevin Friesen owns the clinic together with Dr. Bruce Cypurda. Dr. Friesen says they are still processing this shocking situation.

“I am devastated, our staff is devastated and right now, our priority, we are thinking about the patients, especially ones in active treatment, and trying to make arrangements for them. There is a lot that went on and a lot that we will have to do before we can get back to normal.”

Dr. Friesen says, unfortunately, he was out of town when he got the news.

“I was waking up, getting out of bed and I was reading my text messages on my phone and I just paused for a long time and then I said to my wife 'yeah, we have a big problem' and then we were trying to get a grip on 'what do we do?' This was not something that we had ever expected would happen.”

ke our community, we like the area, we like our patients that we serve and we really want to get back to normal as soon as possible.”
