Provencher M.P. and Justice Minister Vic Toews is committed to getting even tougher on crime.  That is one of his reactions to the murder of 2 R.C.M.P. officers last week in Saskatchewan.  He says while the government will continue to enhance training and equipment for police, there must be harsher penalties for culprits who commit serious crimes.  Toews says the killings are a terrible reminder of the risks our police face every day and we should never take them for granted.  He is also offering his sympathy to the families of the 2 officers who were gunned down in the line of duty.
