The Winnipeg Senior Baseball League's Mitchell Mariners were to host the St.Boniface Trappers Tuesday. That game has been rescheduled to Tuesday, June 20th.

The Winnipeg Goldeyes gave up six runs in the fourth inning and lost 11-0 to the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks. The Goldeyes trail the West Division leading RedHawks by 41/2 games. Winnipeg's Josh Beshears was named the Northern Baseball League Pitcher of the Week and outfielder Fehlandt Lentini was selected the Player of the Week.

The Carolina Hurricanes are one win away from ending the National Hockey League's 2005-2006 season. Cory Stillman and Mark Recchi scored during a seven-minute span of the second period and Eric Staal had two assists as the Hurricanes edged the Edmonton Oilers 2-1. Carolina leads the best of 7 Stanley Cup final three games to one. Game five will be played Wednesday in Raleigh.

The Hershey Bears host the Milwaukee AdmiralsTuesday in game five of the American Hockey League's Calder Cup final. The best of 7 is tied at two games each.

Canada’s National Women’s Volleyball Team will meet the Japanese Professional Team 'Takefuji Bamboo' Tuesday at Garden Valley Collegiate in Winkler. There are three Manitobans on Canada's National team. They are Tammy Mahon of Holland, Stephanie Penner of Dauphin and Ashley Voth of Winnipeg.

Darren Klassen of Winkler and Steve Uchikata of Mississauga won bronze medals Monday in boy's doubles at the American Zone Championships of bowling in Puebla, Mexico. Canada's medal count is six.
