Peace of mind was the main reason for a meeting between Niverville council and the Floodway Authority.
Council was concerned that the province was not spending enough time thinking about what impact the floodway would have on the community in the event of a 700 year flood.  So a letter was sent to the Province requesting a meeting.  Mayor Greg Fehr says they wanted to know if there was a clear plan in place and the message they got is that the Floodway Authority learnt a lot from the flood of '97 and has used that knowledge to develop an agenda.
Council left the meeting feeling satisfied with the answers and comfortable with the plans that are in place in the event of a 700 year flood.
