The Niverville development plan and zoning bylaws will get a thorough review now that the annexation of land from the R.M. of Hanover has gone through.

Niverville Mayor Myron Dyck says the review had been pushed back while they waited for the annexation which took effect on January 1st.

"Every five years we have to do our development plan and our zoning bylaw. We were technically supposed to be doing this last year but we were waiting for the annexation to go through. Instead of doing this in house we tendered and we are awarding the contract to this outside company to do a re-do of our development plan and our zoning bylaws."

Dyck says the $49,000 contract was awarded to Sison Blackburn Consulting. He says the review is important because as the community grows there become new priorities and it is important to clarify how the town is going to change.

"It is a fairly substantial process but it just serves to further identify the vision for the community as well as having the zoning bylaws in place to try and give clarification as to how things are going to operate in the community."
