The Town of Niverville is doing their part for the new high school project by providing the necessary infrastructure.

Mayor Myron Dyck says they have awarded a contract for water and sewer to Southwood Ventures.

"The town has some responsibilities in ensuring the proper infrastructure is there. The tender has been awarded for the school but there is infrastructure that is needed to bring stuff to the school so we have awarded for water and sewer today for $170,000 and change to bring water and sewer to the site so that that can accommodate the school."

Dyck says the work on this water and sewer project should begin sometime this spring.

"Construction season is what it is, of course, it is always dependent on weather. It will be done during this construction season and is part of the entire project which they want to have completed in time for fall of 2019, but it is scheduled for this construction season."

Dyck says the groundbreaking for school construction is happening on March 23rd.
