A brand new play structure valued at roughly $70,000 dollars is replacing the old one in Kleefeld Park.

“It’s predecessor was actually still pretty popular,” offers Hanover Recreation Manager Jason Peters. “Unfortunately, there were some elements to it that weren't safe any more.”

Peters says the old wooden structure had developed too many sharp edges, sketchy slides, and splinter hazards to be considered safe any longer. He says the successor should be a hit among children in the community for many years to come.

“We’re happy that we are able to have play structures open because they wer eclosed for a little while because of this COVID-19 issues so

“It will be a nice addition this summer,” he comments. “Especially if kids are less busy doing other things because of this COVID-19 issue, that they can get outside and enjoy this.”

Peters expects the new equipment will be fully installed within the next two to three weeks.
