Natural Prairie Beef's sister company in Saskatchewan officially opened its slaughter facility at Neudorf this week.  Natural Valley Farms interim CEO Cam Taylor says more than 200 producers raise their cattle under the protocol of no growth hormone implants and anti-biotics during the final 120-day feeding period.  The plant will initially slaughter 52,000 head per year, but plans are in the works to move that figure to 125,000 head once a second shift is added.  Once slaughtered carcasses move to Natural Valley's Wolseley plant for processing.  Shareholders from Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta have invested in the project.  30% of Natural Valley Farms shareholders are from Manitoba.
