Morris Arena

Students in Morris will have hockey as one of their subjects next school year. Mayor Gavin van der Linde says he's proud they've been able to start up a hockey academy, something very unique for the school. The academy will be held out of the Morris Arena. Mayor van der Linde says "It's a real priviledge for our school to have access to a really world class arena that we have."

The hockey academy will be for kids in grades five through twelve. The grades will be broken into three classes so they're skating with kids their age. Mayor van der Linde adds, "the kids who take part in it, it's going to be really affordable and it's not just for hockey kids it's for any kids that want to learn to play hockey. So it is structured for everybody."

Mayor van der Linde says this is a great opportunity for experienced and non experienced hockey players to develop their skills within the school curriculum.
