Steinbach was treated to quite a show on Tuesday night at K.R. Barkman Concerts in the Park with a local artist making his debut. 

17-year-old Louden King brought fans with him to the park and there were a lot of cameras to document the occasion. 

People on lawn chairs at the park stage.There was quite a crowd for Tuesday's concert, featuring Louden King as well as Beneath the Surface.

This young musician started drumming at age four, and then took up a second instrument. 

“I started playing guitar five years ago. That’s when I started writing my own music and stuff, listening to bands like Rush and Led Zepplin.”

Daniel Bonneteau, a friend and musician from Falcon Lake, joined King on stage for this special concert. 

“It’s a good time, it’s a great opportunity,” Bonneteau said after the concert. 

Louden King’s debut album, Supermassivity, was released on Spotify this past April.

The Concerts in the Park series wraps up Thursday evening with Steinbach’s LMNK and Kleefeld’s Kites and Lights. 

Beneath the Surface performing on stage.Beneath the Surface, a punk/alternative rock band from Southeast Manitoba, also put on a show Tuesday night. They released their debut album on January 1st of 2024 which amassed a near 1000 monthly listeners on Spotify at its peak. - steinbacharts.ca
