2425 lbs of garbage was collected by the people of La Broquerie over the course of the last week.

Richard Turenne, Project Manager of the Community Development Corporation, calls the town’s annual Team Up To Clean Up event a huge success. La Broquerie residents celebrated their newly cleaned streets with a barbecue and door prizes on Saturday.

According to Turenne, more than 1000 local residents and 25 business joined together to clean over 60 miles of municipal and provincial roads and highways. Turenne indicates that the same result would have cost the RM $40,000 in services.

Turenne thanks all of those who volunteered their time and says he firmly believes that a clean community equals a happy community.
