Hallie Thiessen has a disease that does not allow her to eat food, and she gets her nutrients from a formula through a tube. The formula is expensive and the Thiessen family decided to hold a garage sale to raise funds. And did they EVER raise funds! People were lining up and having to park a couple of blocks away to be able to get to the sale! The family raised enough money to feed Hallie for a year! This is good stuff!

The RM of Stuartburn now has a few more butterflies fluttering around! 20 Powersheik Skipperlings were released as part of the Assiniboine Zoo’s program to restore the butterflies to their native area. A small group of seniors who received the $300 from the government during the pandemic has decided to donate their cheques to charity. They are in a financial position to be able to do and are encouraging others to do the same if they can. They are certainly showing us how to give back when we’re able! This is good stuff!

It was a year ago that Mary Byman went missing while blueberry picking. After 4 days of searching Mary was found and lived to tell the tale. Mary recovered rather quickly from the ordeal and daughter says she’s still out picking blueberries!
