Highway #12 is down to one lane each way near Ste. Anne as Manitoba Infrastructure and Transportation completes phase two of a two year project. Larry Halayko, Director of Contract Services, says, last year, they rebuilt the southbound bridge over the Seine River Diversion and rebuilt the highway from there to the Trans-Canada Highway. This year, they are doing the northbound lanes. But unlike last year, Halayko says they will not install traffic signals at the intersection of Highway #12 and PR 207.

"At this time, there is no plan to install the lights. Last year we did install the lights because 207 leaving Ste. Anne was closed off, they couldn't access southbound PTH 12 from 207 so we did have higher traffic volumes accessing Highway #12 via PR 210 and that required the traffic signals last year. Right now it's not anticipated, and our warrants indicate, that signals would not be required."

Halayko says the project will be completed in late fall, possibly as late as December.

No traffic signals will be installed at the Hwy 12-PR 210/207 intersection
