A large portion of Steinbach is currently without power.

Manitoba Hydro is reporting that hydro is out for most customers within the triangle that is bordered by Main Street, Loewen Boulevard and Hespeler Street. It includes some customers outside of this triangle as well.

The outage occurred Thursday at 11:27 am.

According to Manitoba Hydro, it is impacting 995 customers.

Manitoba Hydro says it hopes to have power restored by 2:30 pm.

There is no word on what caused this outage.
