Seven hundred eighty Big Macs were sold Wednesday in Steinbach.

Wednesday was McHappy Day at McDonald's, with one dollar from the sale of every Big Mac, Happy Meal and McCafe beverage going to support the Ronald McDonald House Charities.

Office Administrator Leslie MacFarlane says they raised $3,700.01 Wednesday. In addition to the Big Macs, they sold 240 Happy Meals and more than 1,000 McCafe drinks.

"It was great," she says. "The restaurant was very busy, there was a lot going on but everyone seemed to be having a great time."

MacFarlane notes the Ronald McDonald House Charities provides a home for families while their children get treatment who are seriously ill or injured.

"They are already going through a lot and we just want to help them out," she says.

MacFarlane says families from the Steinbach area have used this charity in years past.

This year's McHappy Day raised about $300 more than last year in Steinbach.
