Quinton Howden

It's quite a week for the family of Quinton Howden from Oakbank. They're in Alberta to watch Quinton play for Team Canada at the World Junior Hockey Championship.

Sheldon Howden says, even though this is the second time around for his son, it's as exciting as ever. "It never gets old. Every minute of it is pretty exciting. It's nothing you get used to or nothing you take for granted, it's pretty exciting."

Howden says Team Canada is getting stronger every game but will have to battle hard all the way to the end if it hopes to win gold.  In addition to Howden's immediate family, there are also cousins and neighbours and friends at the championship to support Quinton.

Sheldon says, "For the kids it's a dream of a lifetime. For parents, it's a proud moment that he's been able to be that successful and to make a team like this is such an honour."
