Bonnie Neufeld from sponsor Westland Insurance says her kids are all grown up now at ages 27 and 25.

Neufeld misses the experience of seeing her children getting super excited for Christmas.

“I miss buying the toys, the fun gifts, seeing the look in their eyes when they’d open up the gift they were really hoping to get, just that twinkle in their eyes,” she says. “And for us to be here and be able to provide that for other kids is just fantastic.”

She says it would be difficult to be in a position where you are unable to afford gifts for your children at Christmas time.

“Just to be able to give that to your child, and to see that look on their face is just so worthwhile.”

Luckily, we can help every parent give their kids a magical Christmas.

“We need to get down here, and get all the toys we can get, and provide that twinkle or sparkle in the eye for every child.”

Toys Days continued the last two years through the pandemic in a hut just outside of the store, this year Toys Days is back inside the store.

David Banman who has sponsored Toys Days for years says he’s glad they didn’t have to stop the toy collection through the pandemic.

“I think probably the kids needed the toys more during the pandemic, to have something to do and to keep their mind off of either not being in school or not being with friends.”

Donating a toy is a great opportunity to do something positive for the children and families within our community.

Toys Days at Canadian Tire ends today, December 1st, at 8pm.
