At the end of March we spoke with Dena LaBossiere who shared her story of what Ronald McDonald House in Winnipeg has meant to her family since her son, Carson, was diagnosed with an extremely aggressive form of Leukemia last August.

The family has spent well over 100 nights at the House since then, with more to come, as Carson continues to walk his path in beating cancer.

For 87 consecutive nights, after receiving the diagnosis, Ronald McDonald House Winnipeg was the LaBossiere’s home... but they didn’t have the longest stay in 2020... that was the Waldner family at 194 nights. More on that and the fundraiser related to that milestone in just a bit.

We wanted to find out how Carson has been doing since we last chatted with Dena. We also wanted to spend some time with her to talk about the details of the Champion for Families – 194 fundraiser in support of Ronald McDonald House Charities, which is in the midst of building a new Ronald McDonald House in Winnipeg just a couple blocks from the current home on Bannatyne.

We’re super excited to hear Carson is doing well, and want to thank Dena for once again taking time to share her family’s story, and also encourage all of us to get behind the virtual fundraiser Champion for Families -194. Click here to register for the fundraiser, or pledge your support.
