Another round of hamper deliveries will take place on Tuesday, December 13th through Steinbach Community Christmas.

Roger Blatz says the entire community is responsible for making this possible.

“To the community, to all the communities around us that that pitch in, all the volunteers that make this happen, all of the businesses that donate not just nominally but with food and items... we are super grateful.”

After two delivery days, 648 hampers have already been distributed, with another 331 hampers going out on Tuesday.

Then on Thursday, December 15th, 316 hampers will be picked up. That will finish the distribution of Christmas hampers.

Steinbach Community Christmas is running like a well-oiled machine.

Blatz credits the tremendous effort of all their volunteers.

“We have the best volunteer base, anywhere,” he says. “We have no shortage of volunteers. Actually, we had to turn people away this year because we don't have anywhere to plug them in anymore. There's just so many people who want to help, so it's fantastic. We thank everybody.”

You can still be part of Steinbach Community Christmas by making a monetary donation.

Blatz is still adding up the numbers, but he expects the cost will be substantial.

He says they appreciate donations of all amounts.

“We have people that stop by the front door and give us $10, $20 dollars, it all helps.”

Donations can be delivered to Southeast Helping Hands; you can also donate online on the Steinbach Community Christmas website.
