The Winnipeg Goldeyes are American Baseball Association North Division pennant winners. Kody Kaiser drilled a two-run homer in the first inning and Ridge Carpenter stroked a two-run triple in the third as Winnipeg completed a four-game sweep of Fargo-Moorhead downing the RedHawks 9-5 in their final home game of the regular season schedule. The Fish clinched their first division title since 2003 when the St. Paul Saints lost 2-0 to the Sioux City Explorers. The Goldeyes will play the first two games of their best-of-five division series on September 1st & 2nd at Shaw Park against either the Saints or Gary SouthShore RailCats. Brian Myrow was named the Goldeyes Player of the Year and Rick Forney was selected American Association's Manager of the Year.
