Kelvin Goertzen

Incumbent Progressive Conservative candidate Kelvin Goertzen has announced his campaign team for the provincial election this October.

He says about 25 people will assist in his re-election bid. There are 4 co-chairs; Stan Toews, reeve of Hanover, Jorie Sawatzky (nee Morrisseau), former president of the Southeast Filipino Association, Les Magnusson, former mayor of Steinbach and Bev Penner, wife of former MLA, the late Jim Penner. Goertzen adds, "They will be guiding us and making sure that I don't do or say anything, perhaps, that I shouldn't be doing. I'm really honoured to have them onboard. They represent leadership in our community."

"Kelvin represents the values of our community while providing a strong voice and vision for its future. Most importantly he puts people first and cares about the individual needs of residents," said Magnusson.

"Kelvin has been a strong supporter of the Filipino community and new residents to the Steinbach Constituency and I am pleased to support him as our MLA," commented Sawatzky.

Goertzen tells us, "I've always been fortunate to have a lot of good supporters. My wife Kim and I have always felt very humbled by the people who have come around and supported us, people who have said they are going to work with us, people who say they are going to pray for us. All those things are very, very humbling for us. We are very, very honoured to be working with great people in our community."

Goertzen also announced that his campaign office will be located in the Victoria Plaza along Brandt Street at Main Street in Steinbach.
