Last weekend, we headed out to two very awesome local Fall Meals here in the Southeast: one just outside of Steinbach, and another in Otterburne!

First up from 12 noon until 2:00 P.M, the Friedensfeld Community Center hosted their annual Fall Dinner! There was a ton of delicious food, including cabbage rolls, potatoes, jello, and loads and loads of chicken. Not only that: there were four different flavours of pie! Coconut Cream, Lemon Meringue, Chocolate and of course, Pumpkin Pie were all being eaten as fast as they could be served.

The event hit record numbers of close to 700 guests over the course of the two hours, which included local community members as well as busses of people from Winnipeg and the surrounding area.

Next up, from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. the Otterburne Curling Club held their Fall Supper, a super fun event that saw over 500 people coming out to eat and have a great time! From the moment the doors open to the time it ended, people were lined up and ready to enjoy the great community and wonderful food.

One of the most notable dishes being served were Tourtieres, a French meat pie that isn't served at many Fall suppers! Indeed it was very

popular, as was the turkey, potatoes, coffee and fresh-made pumpkin pie.

The day was filled with delicious eats, and it was tremendous to see so many people gathered together to have a great time as a community. If you haven't been to a Fall Supper yet, check them out! They really are a great time for the whole family, and a great way to celebrate the season.
