The Winnipeg Goldeyes 2011 season came to an end Monday afternoon at Midway Stadium. Winnipeg third baseman Louis Ott's throwing error allowed Richard Mercado to score the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning as St. Paul edged the Goldeyes 5-4 in the fifth and deciding game of their American Association semifinal. Ott's throw to Brian Myrow was in the dirt and skipped past the Winnipeg first baseman. Price Kendall had three hits and drove in a pair of runs for the Goldeyes who outhit the Saints 13-8. St. Paul will meet the Grand Prairie AirHogs in the American Association Championship Series.
