These were just some of the bags that Woodlawn school collected for FCC's Drive Away Hunger campaign. The Grade 6 students took a great leadership role and made sure that their school stepped up to the plate this year to help make a difference. Their total was 1500 pounds of food.

I was happy to hold the door as they loaded up the trailer with their food -- and even happier to know that the tractor was off to Southwood school and the SRSS later in the day. There were so many more stops along the way and what a thrill to have Hank Klassen from Southeast Helping Hands food bank and Wade Nerbas from Farm Credit Canada in the AM1250 studio this morning to tell us that in the southeast -- over the past 2 days -- they collected MORE than 53,000 pounds of food. THANK YOU!!! You have made a difference!!
