Another two forest fires started Thursday in Manitoba, bringing this year's total to 478.
There is a chance Manitoba's fire program manager will remove travel
restrictions by Sunday. Tom Mirus says it would take about an inch of
rain in the next two days for that to happen. Meantime, Mirus says the
rain we received Friday morning was good but not nearly enough to
change the situation in southern Manitoba. An extreme fire hazard
remains in effect.
