A man from the Rural Municipality of Tache has life-threatening injuries following a crash Monday morning at Deacon's Corner.

According to RCMP, the two-vehicle collision happened around 6:30 am.

Officers believe that a vehicle was either crossing or turning west onto the Trans Canada Highway from the south along Provincial Road 207. That vehicle was then struck by a westbound vehicle, which may have been either a semi-trailer or a large pickup truck. Police say this second vehicle did not remain at the scene and officers are looking for that motorist.

The driver of the vehicle that was struck, is a 54-year-old man from the RM of Tache. Police say he was taken to hospital with serious life-threatening injuries. He was wearing a seatbelt.

According to police, there was thick fog at the time of the crash and roads were slippery.
