The need for Christmas hampers continues to grow in the Southeast.Shannon Dyck with Community Christmas says they've been noticing more and more people coming to the food bank which means there will be an even greater need for hampers next month. They will be preparing for 500 families. Dyck thinks one of the main reasons that their numbers are going up is because of all the growth in our area. She adds this is a huge project, not only because of the amount of hampers going out but because for some families the gifts and food will make or break their Christmas. We can get involved by collecting non-perishable food items, new toys or making cash donations. The registration forms for the hampers are out and can be picked up at the AM 1250/ Mix 96 studios, the Clearspring Centre information centre and Southeast Helping Hands.
