If you need a boost or a tow, CAA Manitoba says they're experiencing wait times as long as 16 hours.

However, Marty Rempel, Owner of Steinbach Towing notes even though he too has been experiencing a higher than normal call volumes he's still been able to keep wait times within the hour for the Steinbach area.  Rempel adds how quickly they can get to you also depends on where you are and what your situation is.

"It all depends on the situation.  If you're stranded in a vehicle and it's not running than you're priority, we get to you first.  But if you're at a warm home or business and it just needs a boost or something that it's usually a little longer.  I have some of the trucks that are doing the longer hauls but we keep two guys in town just to do local calls if people are stranded and need a boost or are locked out."

Rempel notes there are some winter tips to follow including making sure your battery is in good shape, plug your vehicle in if it's colder than -15 and will be sitting for several hours as well as keeping warm clothing in your car in case you have a road side emergency.

CAA Manitoba adds if you're waiting for a boost and it's possible to plug in your car to go ahead and do so because miracles can happen.
