The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are still looking for their first win of the 2012 Canadian Football League season.

 

The Blue Bombers gave up 14 points in the first and fourth quarters and lost 41-30 on Friday night to the Alouettes in Montreal. Als quarterback Anthony Calvillo completed 31-of-39 passes for 443 yards and three touchdowns. Brandon Whitaker ran the ball 16 times for 98 yards and a touchdown. He also caught 11 passes for 137 yards and two majors.

 

Winnipeg quarterback Buck Pierce was good on 18-of-26 pass attempts for 255 yards. He threw a seven-yard touchdown pass to Chris Matthews who caught eight passes for 131 yards. Terrence Edwards hauled in six passes for 126 yards. Demond Washington returned a Sean Whyte punt 83 yards for a touchown late in the third quarter. Backup quarterback Alex Brink added a one-yard touchdown run in the final minute. Justin Palardy kicked three field goals.

 

Winnipeg's next game is Friday, July 13th against the Eskimos in Edmonton. The Blue Bombers, who are 0-2 to start the 2012 season, did not lose their second game of 2011 until September 4th when they dropped a 27-7 decision to the Saskatchewan Roughriders in Regina.
