Starting Wednesday morning, Barkman Avenue will be temporarily closed  from Henry Street to Beaver Crescent as construction in the area continues.

That portion of Barkman Avenue is being rebuilt this summer and the underground infrastructure is being replaced. The street has been down to one lane since August 1st, and according to the city, will now be completely closed to all traffic for a limited time.

It is not yet known when this complete closure will wrap up.

The City of Steinbach thanks motorists in advance for following signage, reducing speed, and using caution in these areas.

As of August first, the expectation was for the project to be completed by the end of August, so Barkman Avenue should be back to normal for fall.
