The rainfall combined with cooler temperatures across southern Manitoba the last week has resulted in the Province of Manitoba Conservation and Climate Department opening the backcountry trails to users.

All fire and backcountry travel restrictions have been lifted. All trails are now open in provincial parks.

Hikers and ATV users are urged to travel safely.

Additional restrictions exist in areas outside of provincial parks. See provincial restrictions here.

These restrictions will remain in place until further notice. Additional restrictions may be implemented if dry conditions continue.

Other Advisories/Active Wildfires:

Whiteshell Provincial Park: An active wildfire is burning along the western edge of the park, south of Seven Sisters Falls. Those in the area along the Winnipeg River and PR 307 from Seven Sisters to Betula Lake can expect smoke at times depending on wind conditions.
