School addition taking shape

Construction at Arborgate School in La Broquerie is still on track to be ready for students in the fall of 2012.  That from Seine River School Division Secretary Treasurer Paul Ilchena.  He says they are now starting on constructing the second floor of the addition.  Ilchena admits it's a big project but it's moving along well and is on schedule.

He notes when students left school in June they had construction areas where they could not go and playground space they could not use and there will be similar conditions this fall.  The site will be like that for a number of months and Ilchena expects there won't be much access to the field area during the winter because it is being used by construction equipment.

Meanwhile he says the timeline established by the contractor, architect and consultants is very attainable but that still depends on weather and material availability.  So far what they have seen is work moving ahead as planned.  Ilchena adds there is a little bit of wiggle room in the timeline for moving students out of portables and into the addition but they are still looking for that September 2012 occupancy.
