Steinbach Youth For Christ will open its U-Turn housing facility March 1st.
Executive Director Jim Harms says it'll have space for 4 homeless young people plus house parents. He adds they've already received 3 applications and expect to be full on opening day. Harms explains young people must apply for a room and then develop an acceptable personal plan for how they'll become independent. Meantime, he says there's been wonderful support for renovations and furnishings. They've also set up a registry at Canadian Tire for household items that are still needed. An open house will take place at the U-Turn House, 1 Fernwood Bay, on Sunday, February 25th from 3 to 6 pm.
