A car ended up in an odd spot after an accident Wednesday evening shortly before 7:00.

Steinbach Piston James Shearer, who was on his way to Wednesday nights game, was the driver of the car which ended up in the median and gives a statement of how he saw the accident play out.

"I was driving south on the number 12.  I was in the right hand lane going 40-45 km/h.  There was a van in the left lane that was stopped and looked like he was going to turn left through the break in the median.  There was also a black Pontiac in-between the median break trying to come the opposite way that the van was trying to go and trying to cut across onto First Street.  As I passed 7/11 on my right, the black Pontiac pulled out from the median break (from my angle she came out from in front of the stopped van) and into my lane.  I let my foot off of the gas as soon as I saw her and moved as far right as possible, trying to avoid a collision.  The front of her car then struck my driver's door, which caused my car to slide sideways to the right.  It bounced off of the curb in front of the First Street stop sign and slide up on top of the median before being stopped by all of the snow.  Just missed a tree and nearly sliding onto the other side of the road.  Once she made contact I had nearly no control over the car as the roads were covered in ice."

Emergency crews were not called to the scene.
