Team Manitoba’s offensive woes continued Friday at the 2019 National Women’s U18 Hockey Championship.

Shani Rossignol scored 2:35 into the second period and Cassie McCallum made 34 saves as Team Atlantic defeated Manitoba 1-0 in the 7th Place Game at the Winkler arena.

Oakbank’s Meagan Relf stopped 33 of 34 shots.

The host province lost all four games this week and scored just three times.

Kylie Lesuk potted two of them.

“It’s a little disappointing but we should be proud of ourselves and the stuff that we accomplished,” said the Eastman Selects captain.

Selects forward Madelaine DesRosiers said wearing the Team Manitoba hockey jersey was a positive experience.

“I learned a lot from the older girls and how hard they work,” said the Grande Point product. “The coaches here were awesome. They always gave me little things to work on so I’ll always remember those things they gave to me.”

Clayton Dreger asked Team Manitoba head coach Rob Voth to comment on their 1-0 loss to Atlantic in the 7th Place Game
