There are only a few days left to get your 50/50 For Kids fundraising tickets through ROC Eastman.

The jackpot has reached over $28,000, and half of that could be yours. Half of the money raised will go towards the programs set up for families with ROC Eastman, and half of the money will go into your pocket if you have the winning ticket.

ROC Eastman is about more than just providing recreational opportunities for kids, it's also about building relationships.

Four years ago, while he played for the Steinbach Pistons hockey team, Colin Baudry got involved with ROC Eastman as a big brother. He was matched with a 'little brother', and although there was no deadline for their relationship, Baudry says he just can't walk away from the bond they've developed.

“I think it's a great thing ROC Eastman is doing with all these kids. When they suggested the idea of being a big brother, I thought it would be a good fit for me. I can't walk away, it's become a life-long friendship.”

Baudry says he and his little brother enjoy skating, playing video games, doing computer stuff, and just sitting down and talking about school and life in general. Whether it's over ice cream or a meal, he says they seem to connect best through conversation.

"Those are very beneficial for him, and for me as well. It's been great for me to invest in the life of another person, and it's reciprocated because my little brother has such an effect on me, and we get along very well. It's been a big positive."

By purchasing a ROC Eastman 50/50 For Kids fundraising ticket, you will be supporting a non-profit organization that creates brighter futures for children by giving them access to recreational activities that drive their passions. When the life of a child is improved, it impacts the whole family.

The final draw takes place on Monday, February 6 at 8:30 am. For up to date jackpot numbers, follow: https://steinbachonline.com/50-50-for-kids
