Staff from Penner Farm Services have donated $27,000 this year to Steinbach Community Christmas.

Owner Darrel Penner says this is a tradition that started in the late 1990's and continues to be important to their staff.

"It started actually in 1998. It was initiated by one of our employees who offered to have his head shaved to raise money for Community Christmas and asked if we would consider matching it. We decided actually to contribute two dollars, as a company, for every dollar raised by our employee group."

Penner notes it's been an incredible journey so far and adds over the years staff have raised over $80,000 with a grand total of around $240,000 for Steinbach Community Christmas.

"They've embraced it and I can't speak for them other than we get great participation and we notice that when we get new staff members as we've been growing. Everyone seems to be willing to be part of this initiative for sure."

Penner adds it's a good feeling to be able to be a part of such a great initiative, especially during the holiday season.
