A man from Lac du Bonnet is dead after a snowmobile collision Thursday.

RCMP report it happened on Trail #216, ten kilometres northeast of Pinawa, around 11:30 in the morning.

They say the 55-year-old man's sled failed to negotiate a corner and hit a tree. Police say he was pronounced dead at the scene. They add he was wearing a helmet at the time.
