Growing Minds Childcare Centre will be expanding its operation in Niverville.

Assistant Director Brigitte Parachnowitsch says her organization has just been accepted as the first tenant of the daycare space in the Niverville High School.

This will be Growing Minds’ third facility in Niverville accompanying one located on Main Street and another in the Heritage Centre.

Parachnowitsch says Niverville has an incredibly young population and the need for more daycare space is only increasing.

“This will help us accommodate a lot of children who have been on the waitlist for a long time,” she comments. “We currently have 127 spaces and now we will be looking at just over 200.”

This new chapter of Growing Minds will cater specifically to local Niverville kids of preschool age and younger. Parachnowitsch, admittedly ambitious, hopes to have occupancy sometime in May.

Hanover School Division Secretary-Treasurer Kevin Heide says that goal of "May" will be tough, but not impossible.

“Construction is ahead of schedule,” says Heide who notes that the building’s completion was originally scheduled for July 1st. “So they’ll get possession sometime between May and July.”

To prepare the space for 75 kids, Parachnowitsch says she will need to purchase equipment, furniture, and hire roughly 18 extra staff members.

“We feel like we will be filling a great need in this community,” she says.
