Dorothy and her three friends will be making their way to Oz come April.

The cast for The Wizard Of Oz has been announced and Director David Klassen says the biggest challenge in casting was having too much talent to choose from.

"We have a fabulous cast of main characters. So many people came to these auditions and showed just brilliant character. So, as we went through the different character possibilities, we started to put different pieces together and put together just a really strong and beautiful looking, and sounding cast."

In the starring roles Sariel Kuka will be playing Dorothy, Jeremy Plett won the role for Tin Man, the Scarecrow will be played by Cameron Penner, Grant Burr is the Lion, and Debra Rogalsky will be playing the Wicked Witch of the West.

Klassen says rehearsals start in February with show performances happening from April 27-30 at the Steinbach Regional Secondary School theatre.
